Can anyone tell me how to add a reminder to complete a survey (plaque) that would pop up every so often in the game?

The simplest way I can think to do this is to make a "timer" type trigger for a plaque with the reminder. Whatever you set the timer to will be the interval at which the player sees the plaque. Know though that this only works inside ARIS.

Is there a way to make a timer appear only once in a game? I want to have a timer appear after 30 minutes to let students know they've been playing for that amount of time and remind them when they need to return to the classroom. But obviously, 30 minutes can only have passed once. There must be a clever way to attach a lock or some other trigger to this so that I can limit it. Any ideas?

What if you lock the reminder's trigger with "player has not yet seen reminder (or survey)"?

Brilliant. Logical, which is not how I was thinking about it.

What I chose that should work:

"Player has not yet: Viewed plaque: 30 Minute Timer"

Now I can create a timer for each interval. We just want to pop in and remind students about the passage of time, since they're going to be so immersed in the amazing experience that they are sure to lose track.

Thank you.

That should work. Best of luck with your design and implementation and let us know how things go!
