Is it possible to have the ARIS search (for games) return more than 25 results?

It certainly is. Might this be a feature ARISE wants to sponsor?

David,
I escalated your response to our team. Who would be the contact for a funded feature request if we are interested in pursuing this?
Thanks.

Put them directly in contact with me. If/when we move forward, I'd love to have you walk us through your whole use case so we aren't just putting on a bandaid but really thinking about usability from start to finish.

I wonder if re-implementing game urls might help solve this problem in a more general way. Instead of being stuck with the limitations of the game picker—it's nice but there are many rough edges—authors could simply author game urls anywhere or create their own lists of just their games.

This is where I've been leaning as well. Game URLs could allow a game to link to any other game from a webpage, plaque or even a character choice.

The effect could be a bit jarring no matter how we structure it, however. Here you are minding your won business and next thing you know you are looking at a game description screen.

What kind of transition do you have in mind?

I forgot about that. I was aware of it, but never got to try and use it because I began using ARIS after that was deprecated.

Seems like it would be a better way, but still the game picker could use some tiny updates like larger result set and the ability to enter more than one word to search on.

As far as the URL, how did that work exactly?
From within ARIS I could see one game calling another game, and I think I understand the point about abrupt transition of showing the ARIS page where you select 'resume or new game'?

The QR with anonymous user start codes skip that part, don't they? And go right into the first scene?

So that would be game to game.

Also is there the possibility of starting the game with a link in a web page where, when activated, the link pulls up the app and enters the game?

The old url system essentially could do any of that, just by making use of some base iOS functionality to allow for deep links across apps. It would work like the QR code login, except without forcing a login. If you're in safari and click a link, Bam! you're in ARIS and at the right game. You can use the url to encode a QR image and print it on a poster. Then someone scanning the image with any run of the mill QR reader will be in your game. If they don't have ARIS installed, it will take them to ARIS in the app store. Since they work just like other URLs they are easy to integrate into many workflows.
